abstract The present invention provides a mustache fiber, which is a novel carbon fiber having a special shape, and a method for producing the same. SOLUTION: This is a bilaterally symmetric fiber having a length of 1 μm to 1 mm and a central portion having a diameter of 0.1 μm to 10 μm. Mustache fiber mainly composed of carbon of 100 nm or less and having a graphite structure. Preferably, it is mainly composed of carbon and metal, and the tip portion of the fiber has a metal content of 10% or more, the center portion of the fiber has a metal content of 1% or more, and the portion other than the center and the tip contains carbon. Mustache fiber whose amount is 95% by weight or more. [Selection] Figure 1
