Direct methanol fuel cell |
abstract |
When a high concentration methanol is used to increase the energy density, the problem of methanol crossover that permeates the membrane and flows into the air electrode side is significant. When a specific proton exchange membrane containing an aromatic hydrocarbon polymer is used, the area swelling ratio with respect to an aqueous methanol solution of 30% by weight at 40 ° C. is 2 to 30%. The present inventors have found that a direct methanol fuel cell that can use an aqueous methanol solution as a fuel can be provided. |
