titleOfInvention Styrenic expandable resin particles, expanded beads and molded products
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a styrene foam resin particle, a styrene foam bead, and a foam molded product having low VOC (low volatile organic compound) performance and a high use limit multiple. [Solution] In the suspension polymerization of styrene monomer, in the late stage of polymerization, the styrene monomer is added while keeping the oxygen concentration in the reaction vessel low at 7% by volume or less and adsorbed on the styrene resin particles in the middle of the polymerization. A method for producing a styrene-based expandable resin particle in which a polymerization reaction is advanced and pentane is impregnated as a foaming agent. The particles obtained by this method have a selectively high outer molecular weight. By impregnating pentane as a foaming agent, low VOC (low volatile organic compound) performance is possible, and the outer molecular weight is high, so the appearance and strength of the foamed particles are excellent.
