titleOfInvention Electron capture detector
abstract In an electron capture detector using a discharge in He, generation of an inversion peak due to a temporary increase in current between electrodes for detection due to ionized organic substances is suppressed, and a highly sensitive electron capture detector is realized. An inert gas containing two kinds of gas components of an electron generating material having a high ionization energy and an electron generating material having a lower ionization energy is accommodated in a dopant gas source. The dopant gas from the dopant gas source 17 is supplied from the injection tube 9 into the detection tube. The ionization energy released by the high energy electron generating material is consumed for the ionization of the organic gas of the low energy electron generating material, and there is almost no energy left to ionize the organic material in the sample. The ionization energy emitted from the low-energy electron generating material does not have the intensity necessary for organic ionization, the organic substance in the sample is not ionized, and the occurrence of inversion peaks is suppressed.
