abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery capable of improving cycle characteristics and an electrolytic solution used therefor. SOLUTION: A wound electrode body 20 in which a positive electrode 21 and a negative electrode 22 are laminated and wound via a separator 23 is provided inside a battery can. The separator 23 is impregnated with an electrolytic solution. The electrolytic solution contains titanium element as a component of titanium ion, titanium metal, or titanium compound. In particular, it is possible to occlude and release the electrode reactant in the negative electrode 22, and when the negative electrode material containing at least one of a metal element and a metalloid element is contained as a constituent element, high cycle characteristics are obtained.
