abstract | An electrophotographic photosensitive member capable of stably obtaining an image having excellent image quality over a long period of time by preventing damage and peeling of members arranged in contact with the periphery of the photosensitive member, and the same. An electrophotographic photosensitive member, a conductive member serving as a charging unit, a power source, an image input device serving as an exposure unit, a developing device, a transfer member and a primary transfer member serving as a transfer unit, and a cleaning device. The outer peripheral surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor used in an image forming apparatus mainly composed of a fixing device is also the outermost surface layer made of diamond-like carbon, the outermost surface layer made of flexible diamond-like carbon, or the outermost surface made of tetrahedral-bonding amorphous carbon.
