An image forming method and apparatus using an electrophotographic photosensitive member capable of obtaining a high-quality image, having high durability, and hardly causing carrier adhesion. An electrophotographic photoreceptor is an electrophotographic photoreceptor provided with a crosslinkable charge transport layer, and the crosslinkable charge transport layer has a trifunctional or higher functional radical polymerizable monomer having no charge transport structure and a monofunctional. The carrier for an electrophotographic developer, which is formed by crosslinking with a radically polymerizable compound having a charge transporting structure, comprises a core material particle having magnetism and a resin layer covering the particle. The carrier has a weight average particle diameter Dw of 25 to 45 μm, a content ratio of particles having a particle diameter smaller than 44 μm in the carrier is 70% by weight or more, and has a particle diameter of less than 22 μm. An image forming method, wherein the content ratio of particles is 7% by weight or less, and the ratio Dw / Dp of the weight average particle diameter Dw to the number average particle diameter Dp of the carrier is in the range of 1 to 1.30.
