titleOfInvention Information recording / reproducing apparatus and information recording / reproducing method
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To speed up the return of a control information sequence from an unreproducible state and increase the reading speed and efficiency of the control information sequence in an information recording / reproducing apparatus that reads out a control information sequence (ADIP address) based on detection of a synchronization mark An information recording / reproducing apparatus and information recording / reproducing method capable of improving readability. During reading of an ADIP 1 word, a failure in detecting a data bit and a synchronization mark is monitored by comparing information expected to be detected with information actually detected. When ADIP reading is started by the synchronization mark detection, a data bit detection failure is detected in the ADIP1 word, and a synchronization information detection failure is detected at the time of reading the next successive ADIP address. It can be determined that the detection of the data bit has failed due to the detection failure of the synchronization information, and the operation can proceed to the re-reading operation of the synchronization information.
