abstract |
The present invention relates to an image forming apparatus that employs a so-called electrophotographic method and includes an image carrier that carries an electrostatic latent image and a toner container that contains toner particles, and includes an image carrier that has high durability. A high-quality image can be obtained even with small-diameter toner particles. A cleaning member 151 is provided for scraping the residue remaining on the surface 11b of the image carrier 11 after the toner image is transferred to the transfer surface 30 by contacting the surface 11b. The image carrier 11 has a protective layer 111 containing a resin having a crosslinked structure on the outermost surface, and the toner container 141 has a volume average particle diameter D50v of 0.5 μm or more in addition to the toner particles.
