abstract | An object of the present invention is to provide an intravascular foreign matter removing wire and a medical instrument that can reliably capture and remove foreign matter in a blood vessel. An intravascular foreign matter removing wire (1A) includes a flexible wire body (2), at least two branch wire portions (4a, 4b) branched from the distal end side of the wire body (2), and between the branch wire portions (4a, 4b). And filament portions 5a, 5b, and 5c. In this intravascular foreign matter removing wire 1A, the foreign matter catching space 31 for catching the embolus 200 in the blood vessel is formed by the branch wire portions 4a, 4b and the filament portions 5a, 5b, 5c, and the foreign matter catching space in the filament portion 5a. The size of the loop wire 6a formed by the filament portion 5a and the branch wire portions 4a and 4b is changed by changing the length of the space forming portion 53 that forms 31.
