abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a developing device that suppresses occurrence of a hysteresis phenomenon and suppresses peeling of a toner spent and a carrier coat by optimizing a carrier shape and the like in a developing device using a two-component developer. SOLUTION: A developing roll 4 arranged facing a latent image carrier 1, and a magnetic roll 4 arranged to face the developing roll 4 and forming a magnetic brush with a two-component developer composed of a carrier 8 and a toner 9, A developing bias 11 is applied to the developing roll 4 and a second DC bias 12 is applied to the magnetic roll, and a toner thin layer is formed on the developing roll to develop the latent image on the latent image carrier. In the developing device, the shape factor SF-1 of the carrier 8 is in the range of 105 to 130, and SF-2 is in the range of 110 to 130. Preferably, the volume average particle diameter of the carrier 8 is 25 to 25. The toner 9 has a configuration in which the toner 9 has an average circularity of 0.93 or more. [Selection] Figure 1 |
