abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming method and a lithographic printing method in which high sensitivity and white light safety are compatible, and high image quality with good fine line reproducibility is obtained. SOLUTION: From an aluminum support, it contains (a) a polymerizable compound having an ethylenically unsaturated group, (b) a polymer binder, and (c) a photopolymerization initiator, and has a wavelength. A lithographic printing plate precursor having a photopolymerizable photosensitive layer having photosensitivity in the range of 250 to 420 nm and a protective layer containing a water-soluble polymer is obtained by using laser light that emits light in the wavelength range of 250 nm to 420 nm. An image forming method comprising: exposing with a pixel drawing time of 1 millisecond or less; removing the protective layer by washing with water; and developing with an alkaline aqueous solution.
