abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing silver-gold composite metal fine particles that exhibit optical properties similar to those of gold and can be redispersed easily and with good productivity and at low cost. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] (b) At the interface between a silver fine particle dispersed solution in which silver fine particles protected with a water-insoluble polymer pigment dispersant are dispersed in an organic solvent incompatible with water and (b) an aqueous solution containing gold ions The gold fine particles 3 are coated on the surface of the silver fine particles by carrying out a reduction reaction of gold ions, thereby covering the silver fine particles 2 with the water-insoluble polymer pigment dispersant 4 surrounding the silver fine particles 2.
