abstract | Provided is a method for producing a lithographic printing plate support capable of obtaining a lithographic printing plate precursor excellent in both stain resistance and printing durability using alternating current electrolysis in an aqueous solution containing hydrochloric acid. Electrolytic surface roughening treatment using an alternating current in a mixed aqueous solution containing at least hydrochloric acid and sulfuric acid on an aluminum plate, and an electric current using an alternating current in an aqueous solution containing hydrochloric acid. A method for producing a lithographic printing plate support, which is obtained by performing a chemical surface roughening treatment in this order to obtain a lithographic printing plate support.
