A high conversion and high selectivity catalyst for producing aromatic hydrocarbons such as benzene and naphthalene and hydrogen using lower hydrocarbons such as natural gas, and lower hydrocarbons using the catalyst An aromatization method is provided. (A) At least one selected from the group consisting of molybdenum or a compound thereof as a catalyst material, and (b) a lower hydrocarbon aromatization catalyst comprising porous metallosilicate as a support. The catalyst has at least macropore pores having a pore diameter of 100 nm or more, and a lower hydrocarbon aromatization catalyst, and a lower hydrocarbon aromatization method using the catalyst.
