abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a white organic electroluminescence (EL) element that emits white colored light with high color purity. A white organic EL device has an organic layer sandwiched between an anode and a cathode on a substrate. On the organic layer 21, a blue light emitting layer 13, a red light emitting layer 15, and a green light emitting layer 16 are laminated from the anode side. The blue light emitting layer 13 is formed from a blue light emitting material and contains a blue dopant dye 14a. The red light emitting layer 15 is formed using a blue light emitting material. The red light emitting layer 15 contains a yellow dopant dye 14b and a red dopant dye 14c. When a voltage is applied from the power source 22, blue light is emitted from the blue light emitting layer 13, red light is emitted from the red light emitting layer 15, and green light is emitted from the green light emitting layer 16. The white organic EL element 20 can obtain white colored light by these three colors of light. [Selection] Figure 1
