Transformant of cyanobacteria expressing rice-derived starch synthase SSIIa, functional analysis method of SSIIa using the same, and polysaccharide produced by the transformant |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transformant of cyanobacteria obtained by introducing a gene encoding rice-derived starch synthase SSIIa into cyanobacteria, a method for functional analysis of SSIIa using the transformant, and produced by the transformant Providing polysaccharides. [MEANS FOR SOLVING PROBLEMS] A precursor-type SSIIa expression plasmid and a mature-type SSIIa expression plasmid were constructed, respectively, and a glycogen synthase-deficient strain of cyanobacteria was transformed. As a result of analyzing the structure of the storage polysaccharide in the transformed strain, a glucan sugar chain was detected in the transformed strain in which the glucose polymerization function was lost when both the precursor type and mature SSIIa were expressed. This revealed that the precursor and mature SSIIa introduced into cyanobacteria exerted the function of synthesizing sugar chains in the host. [Selection figure] None |
