titleOfInvention | Cellulose acylate film, polarizing plate and liquid crystal display device |
abstract | The present invention provides a cellulose acylate film which has excellent retardation development properties and little fluctuation in retardation value due to humidity, a polarizing plate using the film, and a liquid crystal display device with little change in viewing angle characteristics. A cellulose acylate in which a hydroxyl group of a glucose unit constituting cellulose is substituted with an acyl group having 2 or more carbon atoms, and the substitution degree of the hydroxyl group at the 2-position of the glucose unit with an acyl group is represented by DS2, 3-position. When the substitution degree is DS3 and the substitution degree at the 6-position is DS6, the following retardations (I) and (II) are satisfied, the front retardation value Re (λ) at the wavelength λnm and the film thickness direction at the wavelength λnm. The retardation value Rth (λ) satisfies the following formulas (III) and (IV). (I): 2.0 ≦ DS2 + DS3 + DS6 ≦ 3.0 (II): DS6 / (DS2 + DS3 + DS6) ≧ 0.315 (III): 46 ≦ Re (630) ≦ 200 (IV): 70 ≦ Rth (630) ≦ 350 [Selection figure] None |
