abstract | PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for efficiently recovering a metal catalyst component from a reaction mixture containing a dicarboxylic acid (such as adipic acid) generated by oxidation of a substrate in the presence of at least a metal catalyst component. SOLUTION: The recovery method includes (1) a crystallization step of crystallizing a crystallization component containing the carboxylic acid from the reaction mixture, and (2) a crystallization component obtained by the crystallization step (1). A washing step for washing, (3) an acid component separation step for separating the acid component containing the carboxylic acid from the washing liquid obtained by the washing step (2), and (4) an acid component by the acid component separation step (3). And a metal catalyst recovery step of recovering the metal catalyst component by adsorbing the separated liquid. In the recovery method, in the washing step (2), the crystallization component is washed with an aqueous solvent, and in the acid component separation step (3), an organic acid as a reaction solvent and an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid generated by oxidation of the substrate The acid component constituted by (2) may be separated by extraction.
