Direct type backlight and liquid crystal display device |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a direct type backlight using a reflective polarizer and having improved light use efficiency. A lenticular lens array having a plurality of parallel ridge lines and a reflective polarizer are arranged on one side of a linear light source, and the ridge line of the lenticular lens array is roughly on the long axis of the linear light source. A reflector having a ridgeline and a repetitive inclined structure is arranged on the other side so that the ridgeline of the reflector and the long axis of the linear light source are substantially orthogonal to each other. A direct-type backlight characterized by [Selection] Figure 1 |
