titleOfInvention Rotary encoder
abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a non-contact absolute type rotary encoder which can be thinned and has a small detection error. A rotary encoder includes a slit plate 1 that rotates in accordance with the rotational displacement of a measured object, a light source 4 that makes a light beam incident on the slit plate 1, and a movement locus of the light beam that is emitted through the slit plate 1. And a processing circuit for processing the detection signal to obtain rotational displacement information of the object to be measured. The light source 4 includes a light emitting element 41 that emits a light beam, and a light guide plate 40 having an end surface portion that faces the light emitting element 41 and a flat portion that faces the slit plate 1. The light guide plate 40 guides the light beam received from the end surface portion to the flat portion, and further emits the light from the flat portion to the slit plate 1. [Selection] Figure 1
