abstract PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a first roller (1) provided with a tooth part and at least one second roller (3) provided with a tooth part, each tooth part (4) of one roller being the other An apparatus for satin finishing and embossing a flat material, in which the roller is arranged to engage between the four teeth (2) of the roller. A first roller (1) is provided with at least one microstructure (10), and an opposing pressure surface (11) is provided at each position of the second roller (3). A microstructure (10) is provided on the roller surface (5) via an intermediate layer (7). This method is particularly advantageous when a membrane (19) having a thermoplastic intermediate layer (21) is used. With this device, the microstructure logo can be embossed at all desired positions on the roller, enabling high security against counterfeiting and a wide variety of designs. [Selection] Figure 1
