abstract |
An object of the present invention is to provide a flat display device capable of suppressing damage caused by electric discharge. A SED includes a front substrate 10 on which an image display unit 20 having a phosphor layer is formed inside, and a rear substrate on which a large number of electron-emitting devices and their drive wirings 19a and 19b are formed on an inner side. It seals and comprises through the side wall 14 of a shape. An annular power supply wiring 21 that supplies a high voltage to the image display unit 20 through the metal back 17 is formed outside the image display unit 20 of the front substrate 10. A bypass member 30 that functions as a lightning rod is provided in a portion of the back substrate 12 facing the power supply wiring 21 in a state of being electrically independent from the lower wiring 19a.
