abstract | A novel method for producing a glossy sheet for ink-jet recording is proposed. On a gas-permeable support, a thermosensitive polymer compound that reversibly exhibits hydrophilicity and hydrophobicity due to temperature change and in which the coating liquid thickens or gels in a temperature range exhibiting hydrophilicity is contained. The coating liquid is applied in a temperature range where the thermosensitive polymer compound exhibits hydrophobicity, and the temperature is changed to a temperature range in which the thermosensitive polymer compound exhibits hydrophilicity to increase the viscosity or gel. A method for producing a glossy sheet for ink-jet recording, comprising forming a coating layer, applying the wetting liquid after drying the coating layer, and then press-contacting with a heated mirror surface and drying to form an ink receiving layer.
