Substituted quinolone carboxylic acids and their derivatives are described. Through the novel site of the GABA A receptor complex, these compounds modulate the effects of γ-aminobutyric acid (GABA) in a therapeutically relevant manner and can be used to generate GABA A It is possible to ameliorate CNS disorders that are receptive to modulation of the receptor complex. |
