abstract |
Multi-layer pipes of arbitrary length and cross-section can be used for the outer body of the lower polyolefin (C 2 -C 4 ) of the lower polyolefin tubular core chlorinated randomly, partially randomly or in blocks. Manufactured by coextrusion overlying the outer body. The core has a wall thickness in the range of about 0.025 mm to 5 mm when measured in the radial direction. The tubular core has the same extent as the entire length of the pipe. This tubular core is made up of a largely chlorinated polyolefin (r-CPO), or a partially randomly chlorinated polyolefin (pr-CPO), or a block chlorinated polyolefin. (B-CPO), any of which can be blended with a small portion of the blend component by weight. Each of r-CPO, pr-CPO or b-CPO or blends thereof has an extrusion temperature in the same range as the corresponding non-halogenated polyolefin. |
