Dry powder inhaler, associated blister device, and associated method of applying dry powder material and making blister packages |
abstract |
The present invention includes a dry powder inhaler and an associated multi-dose dry powder package for holding a dry powder material formulated for inhalation. The multi-dose package (100) includes at least one thin piezoelectric defining at least a portion of a plurality of spatially separated individual elongated dry powder channels (101) having an associated length, width and height. Piezoelectric polymer material (28) including each layer corresponding to an elongated dry powder channel (101) to define an active polymer material layer (28) and active energy to release the oscillating channel during operation A metal material (100 m) attached to a selected portion of In operation, the elongated channels can be selectively activated individually to vibrate upon exposure to electrical input. The dry powder inhaler (10) includes an elongated body (10b) having first and second outer major surfaces (11, 12) facing each other with a cavity (10C) therebetween, and the cavity (10c) and a multi-dose sealed blister package (100). The inhaler (10) also includes a cover member (15) pivotably attached to the elongated body (10b). |
