titleOfInvention Vessel embolic filter device and method of using the same
abstract A blood vessel embolization filtering device and system are provided, as well as methods of use thereof. The embolic filtering device includes a guide wire (12) and an embolic filter (40) attached thereto for capturing an embolus generated in an interventional procedure in a target blood vessel. According to the features of the apparatus and system of the present invention, the guide wire (12) can be transported separately from the filter (40), the guide wire is rotatable with respect to the filter, and the filter is with respect to the guide wire. Thus, movement to the proximal end side can be restricted or prevented. The embolic filter is connected to the sheath (36). The sheath (36) may have a short shape or a long shape. The guide wire includes a proximal end side stop mechanism (20). The proximal stop mechanism (20) is engageable with the sheath (36) and restricts movement of the embolic filter (40) at least proximally. The embolic filter system of the present invention provides such a guidewire and embolic filter along with an embolic filter transport / deployment / recovery assembly. The present invention also provides methods of using the apparatus and system of the present invention.
