titleOfInvention Methods, compositions and kits for cell separation
abstract Disclosed are methods, compositions and kits for concentrating or separating cells containing a target nucleic acid from a mixture containing other components, particularly cells and impurities. By this method, cells that are largely intact can be maintained, cells after separation (eg, culture) can be used, and / or nucleic acid recovery from the cells can be facilitated. In this method, an aggregating agent such as polyamines or cationic surfactants is used to form a complex with cells and agglomerate them to separate them from the other components of the mixture. Conveniently, the separation of aggregated cells can be achieved by a solid phase that can bind cells, such as magnetic beads or filters.
