The present invention provides genes that are differentially expressed during neoplasia. These genes and gene products include a panel for use in screening candidate agents for lung cancer therapeutic intervention, including a panel for use in methods, compositions, treatment, prognosis, and diagnosis. A therapeutic agent is also provided by the present invention. Diagnostic compositions include compositions containing a detection agent for detecting one or more genes that have been shown to be up-regulated or down-regulated in lung cancer pathogens. Exemplary detection agents include nucleic acid probes that can be in solution or bound to a solid surface (eg, in the form of a microarray). The present invention also provides a computer readable medium comprising values of expression levels of one or more genes that are regulated in lung cancer. |
