abstract In one aspect of the invention, a mobile application environment is provided that forms part of at least one access network. The application environment includes a Servlet application that includes a set of instructions for creating a dynamic web page. A Servlet can run on a local node or server node each connected to an access network, which allows a dynamic web page to be sent to the local node in response to a request from a client application running on the local node. The application environment further comprises a Mervlet engine associated with the Mervlet. The Servlet engine includes a policy module that has a first set of instructions that are adapted to provide execution of Servlet between a local node and a server node based on application attributes.
