titleOfInvention | Multi-component spunbond web and laminates thereof |
abstract | A spunbond nonwoven is provided that is formed from continuous multicomponent filaments comprising a polyester component and a polyethylene component. This polyethylene component is a blend of high density polyethylene and first linear low density polyethylene. The spunbond filament is preferably formed in a sheath / core arrangement in which a polyester component is a core and a polyethylene component is a sheath. A composite sheet is provided comprising a multicomponent spunbond layer and a meltblown layer, the meltblown fibers comprising a second linear low density polyethylene. The linear low density polyethylene is formed by polymerizing ethylene and an alpha-olefin comonomer, wherein the same comonomer is preferably used in each of the first and second linear low density polyethylenes. |
