abstract |
The group consisting of 1) 10 to 40 mole percent ethylene units, 2) 32 to 60 mole percent tetrafluoroethylene units, and 3) perfluoro (alkyl vinyl ether), perfluoro (alkyl alkenyl ether) and perfluoro (alkoxy alkenyl ether). 20 to 40 mole percent of perfluoroether units selected from: 4) 0.1 to 15 mole percent of cure site monomers selected from the group consisting of i) perfluoroalkylethylene and ii) perfluoroalkoxyethylene, Base-resistant substantially amorphous fluoroelastomer. Such fluoroelastomers may be vulcanized with a polyhydroxy curing agent. The resulting vulcanized fluoroelastomer is resistant to attack by amines, strong bases and hydrogen sulfide, has a good combination of low and high temperature properties, and is resistant to oil swelling. |
