titleOfInvention Electron field emitter and related compositions
abstract The present invention provides a composition containing an electron emitting material and an expansion material. The intumescent material may be an intercalation compound, for example. When a film is formed from this composition, the expansion of the expansion material typically causes the film to break or break. In order to obtain good release characteristics, no further treatment of the surface of the film is typically necessary after expansion of the expansion material. Surfaces formed from such broken films act as efficient electron field emitters and are therefore useful for vacuum microelectronic devices.
