titleOfInvention A method of treating biomaterials by moving electric fields and reversing electrode polarity.
abstract A method and apparatus for treating biological cell material with a treatment agent using a pulsed electric field provided by a waveform generator (12) is provided. The processing method includes obtaining an electrode assembly comprising three or more individual parallel electrode rows (19). An electrode assembly is applied over the treatment area. A conductive path is established through the array switch (14) between the electrode (19) and the waveform generator (12). A temporal electric field is applied to the treatment area in the form of a temporal electric field waveform from the waveform generator (12) through the array switch (14) to the adjacent electrode array (19), and each temporal electric field. Have the same direction, and the polarity of the electrode rows is reversed over time while applying a temporal electric field between adjacent successive electrode rows in the treatment area. As a result, the biological cell material in the treatment area is treated in a single direction with a treatment agent and a uniform electric field, minimizing the formation of harmful electrolysis products at the electrode.
