Intravascular blood flow adjusting device and reinforcing device having a connecting segment |
abstract |
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a stent for use in treating an aneurysm or the like. A stent (10) has a cylindrical frame (11) and a plurality of connecting segments (13) for connecting opposing portions of the frame. The frames were each formed from a single elastic wire loop formed in a series of arcuate portions (12) and longitudinal connecting portions into a half frame having a series of arcuate portions (12) and longitudinal connecting portions. It can be formed from two elastic wires or from a laser-cut small tube segment. In an elastic wire frame, the connecting segment may be a single metal or plastic band wrapped around opposing longitudinal portions, or it may be an individual bonding band wrapped around opposing longitudinal portions. Alternatively, it may be a solder piece that joins the opposing longitudinal portions. In the tubule frame, the connecting segment is the remaining tubule piece joining the opposing longitudinal portions. |
