A method for tracking the progress of tumor therapy in a subject utilizes bacteria that have been modified to express a fluorescent protein. The method can also monitor the expression of genes associated with bacteria that produce therapeutic agents during the course of therapy, possibly in the context of fluorescence generated by the tumor itself. This method makes it possible to visualize the course of treatment in a living subject and to modify the treatment according to the effectiveness of the treatment. |
