titleOfInvention Intraductal management of breast lesions using therapeutic or diagnostic agents
abstract The present invention relates to an apparatus and method for administering radioactive tracer dyes and inhibitor compounds to a breast duct and for imaging breast lesions. The radioactive tracer dye may be Tc-99m sestamibi and the inhibitor compound may inhibit the P-glycoprotein pump of tumor cells. When the inhibitor compound inhibits the tumor cell P-glycoprotein pump, the radioactive tracer dye can effectively accumulate in the tumor cells, improving the sensitivity of breast imaging to nuclear imaging.
