titleOfInvention Disposable sterile fluid transport device
abstract The present invention relates to a sterile transport device for fluids that are liquid or gaseous. The device is comprised of a body having a hole formed through at least a portion of the interior of the body. It is preferably a central hole formed through the entire length of the body. A movable plunger is included inside the hole. The body has a first end and a second end. The first end includes a surface designed to attach to the upstream component. The second end is connected to downstream components such as filters, pipelines, sample bags, and the like. The plunger has a corresponding first end and second end. The first end of the plunger, when in the closed position, is aligned with the surface of the body and together they are connected to the steam-treatable surface and the rest of the interior of the body, to the plunger and downstream components. Form a sterile barrier to the environment.
