The present invention relates to the fields of biology, genetics and medicine. In particular, the present invention relates to a novel method for the detection, characterization and / or treatment of cancer pathologies such as prostate cancer. The invention also relates to methods for identification and screening of compounds active in the pathology. Furthermore, the present invention relates to a compound, gene, cell, plasmid or composition used for carrying out said method. More specifically, the present invention outlines the role of human kallikrein 2 and human kallikrein 3 variants in the aforementioned pathologies and their use as therapeutic, diagnostic or experimental targets. |
