titleOfInvention Security printing liquid and method using nanoparticles
abstract The present invention relates to a printing method in which one or more narrow nozzles eject the printing liquid during the printing process, and to a printing liquid suitable for such a method. The invention is particularly suitable for counterfeit printing on paper or documents. According to the present invention, the printing fluid comprises nanoparticles that can be induced to emit fluorescence or phosphorescence. The nanoparticles are small crystalline particles that can induce fluorescence or phosphorescence by themselves or when mixed with a dopant. The individual dots (10, 12) can be printed with a printing liquid containing the nanoparticles. Depending on the nozzle diameter, the range of 1-1000 nm, preferably 300 nm, or much smaller sizes, eliminates the risk of blocking very narrow inkjet nozzles. The induction and fluorescence emission frequency ranges are narrow, so that each wavelength-specific induction or detection is required for printing security control, thereby increasing protection against counterfeiting.
