The present invention relates to therapeutic coatings for endovascular implants that prevent mechanical damage, such as hyperproliferative vascular disease after neovascularization. The coating includes a first drug that acts on a therapeutically effective amount of the calcium-independent cell pathway and a second drug that acts on a therapeutically effective amount of the calcium-dependent cell pathway. In one exemplary embodiment, the first medicament is rapamycin and the second medicament is cyclosporin A. These medicaments can be introduced into the polymer agent, provided directly to the implant, or applied to the top of the primer layer that is placed on the implant. If desired, a top coat can be applied to the therapeutic coating. |
