The present invention provides a target molecule in a gas stream, typically an organic phosphorus such as DMMP in the atmosphere, or like sarin, tabun or soman so that it can be more easily detected by, for example, a metal oxide semiconductor sensor. Relates to a method for increasing the relative concentration of various nerve agents. The gas stream is passed through an adsorbent, typically silica. Either both target and non-target molecules are adsorbed or only one type of these molecules is adsorbed. Desorption is performed using chemical displacement agents. When adsorbing both target and non-target molecules, the chemical displacement agent is selected to replace only one of the target molecule or the non-target molecule. |
