The present invention provides methods of screening for compositions that modulate carcinomas, particularly lymphomas and leukemias. Also provided herein are methods for inhibiting the growth of cells, preferably lymphoma cells. Also provided herein are methods (including diagnostics) for treating carcinoma. In one aspect, the method of screening a drug candidate includes providing a cell that expresses a cancer-associated gene (CA gene) or a fragment thereof. A preferred embodiment of the CA gene is a gene that is differentially expressed in cancer cells (preferably lymphocytes, breast cells, prostate cells and epithelial cells) compared to other cells. |
