titleOfInvention | Histological tissue specimen processing |
abstract | A tissue processing device for tissue samples for histological analysis. The processing device includes two retorts, a wax bottle, a reagent container, a pump and a valve. The valve assigns reagents from one container to one of the retorts. Another reagent line connects the wax bath and the retort. A method of infiltrating a sample containing a reagent, such as a dehydrating reagent such as an alcohol, that heats the osmotic material to the boiling point of the reagent or higher, to remove the reagent when the tissue sample contacts the osmotic material. In order to lower the boiling point of the reagent, the pressure in the retort may be lowered. |
