Environmentally friendly lubricant |
abstract |
Transesterified triglycerol oil can be used in combination with synthetic esters to formulate environmentally friendly lubricating oils that are at least 60% biodegradable and have a gelling index of less than about 12. An ester viscosity index improver and an olefin copolymer viscosity index improver can also be added. In addition, the composition uses standard dispersant / inhibitor packaging and can be blended with mineral oil to reduce polarity. In addition, a full range of SAE grade engine oils for gasoline and diesel fuel-based engines can be produced by mixing high and low viscosity mineral oils into the formulation. |
