titleOfInvention | Methods for screening, diagnosis and treatment of RIZ |
abstract | The present invention relates to a step of contacting a compound that modulates RIZ histone methyltransferase (HMT) activity with an RIZ or RIZ fragment having HMT activity with one or more candidate compounds, and an HMT of the contacted RIZ or RIZ fragment. Methods of screening are provided by determining activity. Also provided are methods of screening for compounds that modulate progesterone receptor (PR) activity by providing a RIZ1 modulatory compound and determining the ability of the RIZ1 modulatory compound to modulate PR activity. Also provided are methods of identifying individuals with estrogen receptor positive (ER +) tumors that have a reduced likelihood of responding to endocrine therapy. The method includes determining the RIZ1 status of the tumor, wherein the abnormal RIZ1 status identifies the individual as an individual with a reduced likelihood of responding to endocrine therapy. |
