abstract The present invention provides a method for easily and inexpensively producing porous silica having a network structure with a highly controlled shape. SOLUTION: A cationic surfactant, salicylic acid, and silicate are included, and the ratio of the number of moles of salicylic acid / (number of moles of cationic surfactant / ionic value per molecule of cationic surfactant ions) is 0. A first step of adjusting the silica source aqueous solution of 3 to 3, a second step of precipitating silica having a network structure from the silica source aqueous solution, and removing the cationic surfactant and salicylic acid from the silica.
