abstract | [Problem] When manufacturing a polyester film using a polymer using a titanium compound as a catalyst, foreign matters derived from the titanium compound such as titanium oxide particles are generated and formed into a molded product such as a film. The biaxially-oriented polyester film which reduced the foreign material resulting from a catalyst suitable for capacitor | condensers is provided. It has been found that it is extremely effective to optimize the size and amount of antimony, germanium and magnesium compounds deposited as metal crystals due to the polymerization catalyst present in the film. That is, a biaxially oriented polyester film having a thickness of 0.5 to 20 μm, (A) The melt specific resistance is 1 × 10 7 to 5 × 10 10 Ω · cm. (B) A titanium compound having substantially no particle diameter is contained. (C) A biaxially oriented polyester film for capacitors having an equivalent circular diameter of 1 μm or more and a number density of particles containing titanium element of less than 5000 / mg when converted to 1 mg of polymer.
