abstract | [PROBLEMS] To improve the output density of a fuel cell by increasing the concentration of hydrogen supplied to the anode electrode of a fuel cell by effectively using it for removing carbon dioxide, without releasing hydrogen in the exhaust gas to the atmosphere, To provide a fuel cell system with improved energy use efficiency. A fuel cell system according to the present invention includes a hydrogen gas generation unit 1 using an organic substrate as a raw material and a hydrogen gas fuel cell 5 in a hydrogen gas generated from the hydrogen gas generation unit 1. A carbon dioxide removing unit 3 for removing carbon dioxide contained in the fuel cell by a chemical reaction, and a hydrogen gas burning unit 7 for burning hydrogen gas in the exhaust gas discharged from the anode outlet of the fuel cell 5.
